Statement to the Macedonian Orthodox Parishioners Across Australia and Notification to the Australian Government – Passing of Metropolitan Timotej
It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of His Eminence Metropolitan Timotej, Bishop of the Macedonian Orthodox Diocese of Debar-Kičevo and President of the Macedonian Orthodox Diocese of Australia – Sydney. His Eminence fell asleep in the Lord overnight in Macedonia, leaving behind a legacy of spiritual leadership, dedication, and love for the faithful.
Metropolitan Timotej served with unwavering devotion, providing guidance and strengthening the unity of our Macedonian Orthodox Church and its faithful both in Macedonia and Australia. His vision and leadership have been instrumental in nurturing and preserving our faith, culture, and community.
As the President of the Macedonian Orthodox Diocese of Australia – Sydney, His Eminence dedicated himself to supporting and inspiring our clergy, churches, and laity throughout Australia. His loss will be deeply felt by all who were blessed to know and serve alongside him.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric, the clergy, and faithful across Macedonia and Australia. Our prayers are with them during this time of mourning.
We also notify the Australian Government of this significant loss to our community. The Macedonian Orthodox Diocese of Australia – Sydney has been a cornerstone of cultural and spiritual life for Macedonian Australians, and His Eminence’s passing marks a solemn moment in our shared history.
May the Lord grant eternal rest to His servant, Metropolitan Timotej, and may his memory be eternal.
