FOREIGN MINISTER MUCUNSKI CEREMONIALLY WELCOME TO THE MACEDONIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH MUNICIPALITY “SAINT PETKA” IN ROCHDALE, SYDNEY

On February 10, 2025, the Macedonian Orthodox Diocese of Australia reported that the Macedonian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Mr. Timcho Mucunski, who is on his first official visit to Australia, was welcomed by the Macedonian community in Sydney on February 8, 2025. The following day, February 9, 2025, the Minister and his delegation visited the Macedonian Orthodox Church Community “St. Petka” in Rockdale, where they attended the Sunday liturgy with the local Macedonian Orthodox faithful.

Minister Mucunski was warmly received by the church administration, with parish priest Father Vlado Nedeski extending a heartfelt welcome and acquainting him with the history and activities of the church community. The Minister expressed his pleasure at feeling at home among the numerous congregants.

During his time at “St. Petka,” the Minister met with members of the Macedonian community, the church administration, and representatives of Macedonian societies and organisations. The discussions emphasised the importance and urgent need for the unification of the Macedonian community in Australia, which serves as a significant ambassador in this multicultural nation.

“St. Petka” is the second church from the Australian-Sydney Diocese visited by Minister Mucunski, who had previously visited the Macedonian Monastery “St. Clement of Ohrid” in Melbourne. Minister Mucunski is the first Macedonian minister to visit the Australian-Sydney Diocese.
